Dan and Nel Memorial Fund

Hi. Our names are Christine Teepe, Kelly James and Debbie Raguzin and we are fundraising for our friend Denise Brancato and the families of Dan Damato and Nelson Velez.

A local lifelong Northport family, close to many people's hearts, has experienced unimaginable loss this week.

Susan Buchanan Velez not only lost her son Dan Damato earlier this week but also lost her husband Nelson Velez a few days later to a long battle of numerous health issues and the onset of ALS.

Those of you who know this family know they are always there to lend a helping hand when needed. This is so much heartbreak for one family to handle and we cannot imagine what they are facing.

We ask that anyone who can help to please donate through this Go Fund Me page. Susan and her children Bob, Denise, Matt and Frank are working hard to cover the cost of two funerals at once, while also struggling to pay Nelson's medical bills.

Nelson and Dan's wake will be held this Monday, 8/22 at Nolan's Funeral Home in Northport.

Any support you can give will be welcomed and will help alleviate some of the financial burdens, so they can focus on being able to grieve at this most difficult time.
