As many of you know, in October of 2014 Danny made a life saving decision.  He was in such a dire state that he was gonna take a cliff.  His other choice was to come to Colorado and see if together we could get him the right medical care to get relief from over 20 years of daily agony.  We were able to pull together the perfect medical team for him and in less than a year he went from 2 or 3 good days a month to 3 or 4 bad days a month.  It was nothing short of a miracle.  We started a little business so that on his good days he could dabble in the things he loves like fixing stuff and helping people get things done.  We could work together to make ends meet.  High Country Concierge Services LLC was born.  We were doing pretty well and then in June I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  That alone has been a whirlwind of surgery, meds, doctors appointments and major decisions on care going forward.  October 29th, 2 days before I was to start radiation my colon exploded.  I was in such bad shape that the ambulance personell could not stabalize me and frankly were not sure we would make it  to the hospital in time.  Once they figured out what had happened I was rushed to surgery.  The surgeon said it looked like my colon just "exploded".  Obviously they had some work to do getting me cleaned out, the rupture repaired, and the dreaded stoma placed.  Danny has been the best husband and care giver anyone could ask for BUT this means neither of us can work the business.  We are now faced with a decision to start my 6 weeks of radiation and wait 3 weeks past that for the colostomy reversal or do the reversal and then start radiation.  We are leaning toward the later - I hate this bag!  The reversal while a blessing it is also another 6 weeks recovery to then start 6 weeks of radiation.  It is a 2 hour drive each way to get to the Shaw Cancer Center in Edwards.  If we do the drive daily, again no time to run the business.  I can stay at a lovely little place on the Shaw Campus called Jack's Place however that will be $400 a month so roughly $600 for the full 6 week treatment.  At least staying there would allow Danny to work the business and I could still admin from there. 

Add to all of this, that due to a difference in business ethics, Danny quit working for our former landlord.  I say former because he was so pissed that Danny quit that he notified us that he would not be offering a new lease in January.  Summit County Colorado is not an easy place to find affordable living...  On November 1st we did not pay rent since we were busy with me in ICU.  Landlord had been notified of this.  To further retaliate on November 4th he filed to evict us for not paying November rent.  I kid you not - 4 days late.  I had lived there for almost 7 years and NEVER had our relationship been like this.  Thanks to another neighbor/friend/client we were able to secure housing just a few blocks from our old place.  Our new landlord knows all of the details and let us get in here December 1 instead of waiting until January.  Due to my condition Danny did the entire move alone.  It took him down for 3 days and I'm not convinced he is 100% yet.

We have applied for all assistance possible including SSDI/SSI.  Even being "fast tracked" because of Cancer that decision is 3 to 6 months away with no guarantee of approval. 

Needless to say the next 4 to 5 months are going to be quite a challenge.  As difficult as it is for us to ask for help, here we are.  Any assistance, financial or otherwise, would be appreciated more than you know.  Also know that once we get throught this, if/when you need help we will be there for you too.
