DAM-Strong

Story

Duke Alvin Mcgee is a strong little guy who is being asked to face more than anyone ever expected.  About a week ago this sweet 5 year old boy was diagnosed with cancer. If you can help we would appreciate it so much. Even just sending love and keeping this amazing family in your thoughts is greatly appreciated. Below is a message from Duke's momma: Words I never in a million years thought I would have to find.  On Wednesday, September 29th, I received the phone call from Doernbechers regarding Duke's biopsy.  "Your son has what's called a Ewing Sarcoma, it's cancer."  I spent 20 minutes in the phone with his Dr trying not to fall apart and retain information. And then multiple phone calls over the next few days scheduling and informing family and trying like hell to wrap our brains around this. It's really hard.  There is the possibility of a bone marrow biopsy if the cancer has spread, so are praying heavy with crossed fingers and eyes and toes and hairs that the PET scan is clear tomorrow and Duke doesn't have to endure that last exploration   Friday we go up (possibly for bone marrow biopsy) and to get his port placed on his chest for administering chemo treatments and blood draws and we will start chemo treatments as well. We will be going to Portland every two weeks for chemo for the next 6 months. And hopefully having surgery to take the bump off around half way through.  We are in for a rough, hard road, but I know that God and all of our amazing family and friends are behind us and fighting for our little man.  Thank you all for loving my babies so much and for caring about our family so much. It is truly overwhelming in the most incredible way
