Damon's favorite song is: “Praise You in the Storm” and his one wish before it all went so down hill, is that if one person found Christ during his trials it would all be for God's glory.
We have seen God work miracles this week in Damon's body... Monday we were unsure if he was going to make it or not and today we saw him without tubes, responding to his wife and girls!!! Praise GOD!
Won't you please pray with us for God to continue to heal his body and to be with his wife/girls, and our family . We are so amazed by the people he has touched through his Christ-driven character, please continue to share your memories by private messaging Kenidi and please consider contributing to the medical bills that they will incur.
Here is the latest update:
DADS AWAKE!!!! This morning as we prayed at the alter, we ask that dad wake up calmly to the whispers of Jesus encouraging him that everything is okay. We got a call at noon from his nurse saying that they removed him from all sedation and extubated him. NO MORE VENT! All his vitals were stable and he was able to keep 94-97 oxygen on just 6 liters nasal canula- so not even needing step down to high flow!
After he was extubated, the nurse thought he was asking for water but when she got close, he whispered “wife.” So she called us immediately and we got to tell him we loved him as we all sobbed. After he took a nap we got to visit with him and they bent the rules so all 4 of us could go in and tell him for the first time in a week, that we love him and HE COULD RESPOND! He can’t form words well yet but he made sure to ask “what are you guys eating”, tell us “I’ll be home tomorrow” and “love you.” ❤️ They also had to turn his bed alarm on because he told the nurse he was leaving to go home and he needed to get some food before we left they sat him up to do a swallow study to see if he can start getting food by mouth.
We had so much emotion erupting from us today that we wanted to talk for hours to him about everything that’s been happening. But we knew we couldn’t overwhelm him and we just wanted to embrace this moment we have prayed so deeply for. So he knows what a miracle he is and there is an ARMY praying for him- but we can’t wait to tell him every detail he missed out on this week.
It’s still a long journey ahead. More days in isolation, then to step down, then to a regular room, then inpatient rehab once he’s able to tolerate multiple hours of therapy. But today we rejoice in seeing our daddy awake!
We have had constant worship music playing this week and “Since when has impossible ever stopped You? All the miracles I’ve seen, You’re too good to not believe” just keeps exploding from my soul today
God has given us such an amazing platform to share my dads story and my intention all along has been to use it to bless others.
