Here is my story...
I was born 3 weeks premature via emergency C-section due to the fact that I was not breathing correctly. I was immediately diagnosed with asthmatic bronchitis and since then have been afflicted with asthma all of my life. Though it had been somewhat controlled after many admissions to hospitals and visits to doctors when I was younger.
Now, unfortunately, I have been hospitalized upwards to 11 times during the past two years, including stays in the ICU, and have had countless trips to the emergency room. During these visits I was also diagnosed with a vocal chord dysfunction and a severe anxiety disorder due to the stress that this has brought upon me. I have spent most of my time in the past two years seeing doctors, specialists, and therapists attempting to treat my conditions so that they are at least somewhat fairly managed. After being seen by a new ENT specialist within the past few months I am now scheduled to have surgery at the end of November to hopefully alleviate, or at least better control, my condition after all these years of living this way.
Due to these issues I was recently placed on short term disability from my position at UPMC, which is now being terminated, along with my position with the company. My medical benefits are also being terminated.
I am currently in the process of hopefully getting benefits from the state so I can keep my scheduled surgery date, but at the moment could really use any and all help financially. Really anything at all will help, whether it is with a small donation or just by sharing this post and getting my story out there. I appreciate anything that can be done to help out at the moment, it would mean the world to me.
