Let's save Selda's infected leg

Donation protected
Hi. I'm Osman from Wiesbaden [Germany] , and I'm collecting donations for this urgent situation:

Specifically, it's about Selda Akbal (43), a single mother of two children from Gelibolu [Türkiye] She went to Bodrum in July to work seasonally as a housekeeper for a businessman.

While doing garden work, she slipped off a folding ladder. Her lower leg got caught between the rungs of the ladder, and her body was left hanging in the air until the ladder collapsed sideways, causing her to fall to the ground.

In addition to a concussion and skull trauma, she sustained a severe splinter fracture and required surgery. Her entire lower leg is now secured with plates and screws, and she had bleeding vessels there.

During a second procedure, a drain was placed in the wound. The businessman had not registered her, so she has no insurance coverage. He paid for the initial treatment and the surgery, but after 10 days, he pressured her to sign a document, intimidating her and sending her out with an infected leg and fever.

Her brother, who works as a security guard, managed to take two days off, borrow a car from a friend, and drive her home across 600 km in 10 hours with ice packs [a free addition from the clinic] on the back seat.I visited her last week at home.

Home... It is more of a rundown place than a proper apartment. It's on the first floor with a steep external staircase, furnished with makeshift furniture and a worn-out sofa with simple foam cushioning. I intentionally avoided more detailed pictures of her living conditions because it might make her uncomfortable.

She needs to go to the hospital every two days for wound care, but no one comes to her home. The ambulance she called refused to bring her down with a chair and merely watched as she slid down the stairs step by step.

With the critical infection, she needs to be in a specialized clinic, but obtaining a referral has been impossible so far. The chief doctor is on vacation, and the substitute is unsure, etc.

When someone is shy and passive like this woman and doesn't demand anything, they are quickly left behind. There is a risk that her leg might die or she might face a life-threatening sepsis. To clarify, this woman did not ask for help herself. We came across her through third-party reports. She is so modest and undemanding that she was already extremely happy with the two crutches we quickly provided.

In summary: Thank God, we are all quite well. If we sometimes show a sense of self-pity, it is really high-level complaining. Every day that we are healthy and prosperous without fear for our home, wealth, and life is a gift that we should appreciate.

This woman’s misfortune motivates me to contribute a small cooling drop to the burning wound. I offer everyone the opportunity to participate, especially since I've seen the situation live and can confirm, that this is genuine suffering and not a scam. I will provide updates on the situation and her [hopefully] recovery, which could take up to a year.

Small donations are also welcome. Even a dripping faucet fills the glass.

Thanks in advance to everybody
