Hi, my name is Candice and with the consent of the Lucey family and close friends, I am fundraising in order to help with the financial costs of the search for Damien and to enable his family to travel to his home and place in which he went missing near Perth, Australia.
Over the last 10+ years Damien had established an amazing life and career for himself in Perth. Sadly, on Monday 8th January, Damien went for a swim, as he often did at Honeycombs Beach, South of Perth. Damien got into some difficulty in the water. He was heard by two passers-by calling out for help. Tragically, despite Search & Rescue efforts, Damien was taken in by the water, and to date he has not been found.
This tragedy has obviously devastated the Lucey family and his close friends. In fact, everyone that knew Damien is heartbroken by this tragic loss and I know all those that knew him will join in the desire to want to assist his family at this difficult time. My hope is that we can help them in returning to Perth to aid in the search for Damien, and to bring him home!
With this fundraiser, we hope to raise money to assist the Lucey Family with the following:
- Return flights from Cork to Perth
- Assist with the costs of accommodation while in Perth and expenses to facilitate the continued search at Honeycombs Beach and surrounding areas
- Help with the legal expenses accrued organising Damien's legal affairs in Perth
