It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the death of our beloved sangha sister, Damayonti Sengupta. About two years ago she generously shared with us the news of a medical condition and January 26th, in the presence of sangha friends and family, she peacefully passed away.
Though we were all aware of Damayonti’s diagnosis, this news is still difficult. She was a bright light in many of our lives. From Seattle Sangha Director to Manager of Nalanda West to Nalandabodhi International’s first Chief Operating Officer, her dedication to Buddhist and wider community was constant and inspiring; her generosity and compassion were expansive and touched so many of our hearts. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
With your help, we aspire to raise $7,600 to help Damayonti’s family with funeral expenses. All funds raised go directly to her brother Rhetick Sengupta.
