Damaris is a senior in high school and has excelled academically.  With excellent grades and AP classes, she will be the first in her family to go to a 4 year college.   Her family is from Guatemala and moved to America years ago for a better life.  The whole family is hardworking, ethical, giving, kind and dedicated.  During the stressful college application season this past fall,  Damaris and her siblings rapidly lost their mother, Yvonne, to cancer.  Despite the grief, Damaris persevered.  She was accepted by the schools to which she applied and she has chosen to attend CAL POLY POMONA! Go, Damaris!  Having a deep passion for animals, ever since she was a little girl, she wants to study to be a veterinarian.  

She has received scholarships and been approved for some loans, and yet, her costs will not be fully covered and the family cannot afford to pay for college.  She needs our help, right? Now more than ever.  She is smart, driven and capable, and with the passing of her mom, I hope we can each give a little to help her cover her expenses to go to college, succeed and thrive!
