DaMaris Jones (1st Miss Juneteenth of Minnesota)

Hello, my name is DaMaris Jones; come and follow me on my journey as I represent the state of Minnesota as your First Miss Juneteenth of Minnesota 2022. I am asking for donations to travel to Galveston, Texas October 13, thru October 16, 2022 to compete in The Miss Juneteenth National Competition to represent Minnesota. Follow me and wish me luck.

As I been working hard to make history in Minnesota, for the first time, our Black community will have a Queen, and it's me. We have celebrated Juneteenth in our community for over 40 years and never had the opportunity to have a pageant. I am so honored to have this role and continue my family legacy; my great-grandmother was a community activist and gave many years to the community in service. Having the opportunity to represent my community has been the start of an absolute dream. Every girl dreams of becoming a princess, and I get to be the FIRST in my genre.

Please support my efforts to become The National Miss Juneteenth and bring the title home to Minnesota. I need help with this; as an eleventh grader, I am limited in my financial opportunities. Your support will help me with my travel expenses and personal needs (dresses, make-up, nails, hair, professional grooming lessons, transportation, and food when arriving at the pageant). Please note I am very humble and grateful for any support I can get, and I hope you will continue to follow me. I want to make my community proud.
