DaMar to The Bethel Songwriting Retreat

Once per year, Bethel Music hosts their Songwriting Retreat. Out of many applicants from around the world, they pray and select only 30 people they feel that The Lord leading them to invite. I have been privileged to be invited to one of their retreats! For those of you that know me, you know that this is a dream come true!
The retreat includes the following:
1. 3 days of songwriting, workshops, and training alongside of 29 other high level songwriters from around the world.
2. Coaching from members of the Bethel Music collective
3. Small Group time with Bethel Music artists: This time will include 3-4 other retreat attendees, and will be led by an artist.
4. 1 on 1 song review with a Bethel Music artist
5. Opportunity to perform my original songs and get expert feedback and input
6. Dedicated community focused times with fellow writers.
7. Chance to build community and connect with different songwriters from around the world
I originally applied for the March retreat and It would've worked out perfectly. I would be off from work during that time and I would've been able to have the amount of money needed for this trip saved and some. However, Due to unforeseen circumstances, Bethel had to cancel the March retreat, leaving me only able to attend the January 14-16th retreat.
I was given my acceptance letter on Christmas Eve and as you can imagine, saving it such a short amount of time can be difficult. After attempting to sort things out regarding date changes and etc., Bethel Music has given me an extension to pay for the retreat. I also have to pay for the flight, hotel, rental and other expenses.
I believe wholeheartedly that God has called me to write songs that not only shape the Buffalo/Niagara area, but beyond. I'm truly looking forward to being able to learn from this trip. I will be showcasing some of the songs that will be apart of a live recording for my church Vanguard this March. Hopefully I can add some of their suggestions and tweak some of the songs towards perfection. Your donation will go directly to this trip and every little bit helps!
