Hi everyone, my name is Mary and I am Dalton's roommate and good friend. On November 4th, Dalton's doctor called at 3:30 am and advised him to go to the nearest hospital due to the blood panel results he had gotten done for what he thought was a tooth infection. At that time, his white blood cells were high and there was concern for Leukemia. After waiting hours for updated results, he was immediately admitted at Temple University. Once they confirmed that he does in fact have Leukemia, Dalton transferred to Jefferson University Hospital, where he has been admitted since. After many test results, they have confirmed again, that Dalton has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was immediately put on a treatment plan to include 7 days of chemo. Unfortunately, he will be admitted for the next 30-45 days and unable to leave until he builds back up his immune system. With treatment, it's often hard for him to work more than a couple hours due to being tired and testing, which will result in many backed up bills. The doctors are very hopeful of a good recovery, but day to day life will change drastically for Dalton for the next year. We are hoping to raise money for him to help assist with hospital bills, personal bills from being unable to work full capacity, and meals (because who can eat hospital food for a month)! We will continue to provide updates on his health as the month progresses!
