Dalton “Wolfie” Holloway

Just 7 months ago, Dalton received the devastating news he was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell, metastatic lung and lymphatic cancer with lesions also located on his brain. At his first oncology appointment, he was given so much hope that he would live many years to come with all of the new methods they could try considering his condition and diagnosis. Although he was afraid, sick and in overbearing pain, he remained calm and positive, never losing his faith. He continued to be a caretaker for his disabled father even on days when he could barely walk. He made significant diet changes and began supplements to try to enhance his years ahead. Despite the initial shock and pain associated with learning of his diagnoses, he and the family quickly realized this would be a tough road ahead, considering how ill he became after each round of chemo and immunotherapy. Unfortunately for Dalton, he never really had a fighting chance as he only received 3 rounds total. Each time after, he was hospitalized due to worsening pain and condition. This cancer was highly aggressive, spreading rapidly throughout his entire body. But if you ever talked to him, he had all the faith he was going to beat this. He was incredibly strong, mentally and physically. Over a month ago, he was hospitalized for what we know now, was the final time. His family all took turns daily going to be with him as his lungs began to fail and panic attacks began. He was so scared and didn’t want to be alone. Eventually the oxygen masks were not enough to stabilize him and his oxygen began to drop rapidly. His sister had to make the very difficult and immediate decision to incubate him in an attempt to save his life as his levels were dropping to 40 and below. He wanted to live more than anything in this world, especially so he could continue to care for his father. The thought of leaving his father here without him is what kept him fighting so hard for so long. He was completely selfless. While incubated, he showed signs of life as some days he was able to get oxygen levels to 95 and higher. His pain and suffering prior to incubation was immense but he always tried to be strong to protect others feelings and emotions. Around 3 am on January 31st, Dalton coded and doctors rushed in to administer chest compressions. Despite every effort, he did not make it. Due to him being so young and the rapid progression of his cancer, his family could use any assistance with being able to give him the proper funeral and burial. Please donate if you are able. Any amount is highly appreciated.
