Dalton Harnage’s Medical Care
10/2/21 update
Here we are, 8 weeks out and getting better every day. Still working with home physical therapy, and getting mobility back in foot and ankle. Wounds from surgery and skin grafting are healing well. Home health nurse stated it has shrunk by 2 inches in just 2 weeks. Family visiting from out of town and we actually went out to a restaurant, “grandpa hobbling along” as he likes to put it, but the outside stimulation is good because he’s definitely been stir crazy. Thanks for all your continued support, calls, and prayers. One day at a time!
3 weeks ago we had no idea what we we were facing, but here we are at Rehab walking! Making progress day by day.
Planning to move to a rehab facility tomorrow for more intensive physical therapy to get mobility in the left leg. Dalton continues to improve daily. He is still weak and limited in movement but we are excited to see the progress made since the beginning of this scary journey. Please continue to pray and keep us in your thoughts.
Posting our 2 week update at the top so you all can see how far we’ve come. Off the ventilator and out of ICU. Working with physical therapy and up in the chair! Hoping for approval to get into a inpatient physical rehab center next week. Keep up the prayers and positive thoughts for a full recovery. Still can’t move the left lower leg but we know that will come. The surgeon says muscle and nerves are intact but Dalton still has a lot of swelling and pain in that leg.
Hi, my name is Dana, Dalton’s mom. As many of you know, Dalton had a medical emergency and was admitted to Piedmont Atlanta on Sunday, 8/8/21. He has been in ICU on ventilator support, had emergency surgery on his left leg due to a circulation issue and will need multiple surgeries. He is responding and aware of all the love. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Many have reached out wanting to provide support and we appreciate all the love. Dalton loves his Dolls and I am overwhelmed by all the calls and messages. Thank you all for you kindness.
