We seek to provide support for low-income, BIPOC, trans/GNC/NB/Queer artists and freelancers whose livelihoods are being affected by this pandemic in Dallas. Whether it's from canceled gigs, lost jobs, or a lack of business due to coronavirus scares, we hope to orchestrate an egalitarian approach to crowdsourcing.
Those that apply for funding will be awarded money within a few days of their application depending on the state of our funds. The more funding we receive, the more money we can provide to more people.
We've created a short survey to help us prioritize those in our community most at-risk and in need. All information shared remains confidential.
To apply please take fill out this survey
Please consider donating or sharing if you are unable to give at this time.
We will be withdrawing to funds and sending digital increments of $200 to the artists who have filled out the grant applications helping as many artists as our resources allow. With arts and nonprofit specialist Elizabeth Macwillie who works for bcworkshop and was a lead consultant on the Dallas Cultural Plan, we have developed a point system to help prioritize the greatest needs and most vulnerable populations.
If you have non-monetary resources to offer please fill out this form:
Thank you Christian Cruz for pointing us to the NYC Low Income Artist/Freelancer Relief Fund as a model to responding to our local artists needs in Dallas. If you feel so inclined you can make a donation to them here .

My name is Darryl Ratcliff and am the co-founder of Creating Our Future as well as an award-winning artist and poet who writes about art frequently for The Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, and the Dallas Observer. I am from Dallas, TX and have been part of the Dallas artist community for over ten years. These funds will go straight to artists who have applied for them through the application and delivered digitally in $200 increments. The funding will help with the immediate financial needs of artists who have lost their income because of Covid-19.
