Hi, my name is Jen and I’m fundraising for Dalia Pacitti, who suffered a severe escalator injury almost losing her entire arm. Dalia, my best friend, Valeria’s mother, lives alone and will need help as she navigates this horrible injury for months and years. During one of her shifts on June 28th, at Delaware Park Casino, Dalia was using one of the escalators when she fell down and quickly panicked when she realized the escalator had consumed her shirt and soon after her arm was also stuck in the escalator. During this incident, Dalia was yelling for help while her arm was being mauled and chewed apart by the escalator that would not turn off. It was only after the security guards heard her screams that they were able to turn off the escalator. By this point her arm was mangled on her tricep. It's a crater like wound that is about 5 inches by 3 inches and is about 1/2 inch deep. Dalia has a long road ahead of her as she recovers from all her medical procedures including needing skin grafts. Dalia lives in Delaware alone without her family since they live abroad in Canada.
