Help Dalya and her family survive and build a new life.

My name is Zuza Zak (I am writer) and I am fundraising on behalf of Dalya. These are her words:

Hello, I'm Dalya.

A human being above all else. My life was wonderful and very clear, like a straight line. I had a small office where I managed my work and studies, and there were lots of flowers, especially chrysanthemums. I was studying for my master's degree. Our life in Gaza was wonderful. The roads, the streets, the memories—everything was so beautiful.

On October 7th, we woke up to the worst thing that could happen to a human being. We woke up to the sound of bombs and missiles. We were exposed to all kinds of internationally banned weapons, including white phosphorus, explosive belts, and explosive barrels that fell and destroyed entire residential areas. We were running from death at every moment, not knowing the meaning of sleep. The army ordered us to evacuate, and the displacement phase began. We were displaced to Rafah in a house that had no roof and was very dilapidated. After 13 days there, the entire area was warned of bombing, and we decided to sleep in a very bad tent. The insects, the cold of winter, the heat of summer, and the bombs all conspired against us that day. We were then displaced to the Mawasi of Khan Younis, each place worse than the one before it.

Suddenly, a bomb destroyed everything we owned: my beautiful, warm home, my office, my university, and with it all our dreams, ambitions, and memories. Everything turned to rubble and ash. We were displaced from our homes. We slept in the streets and roads. I remember how harsh the winter was. It rained every night. I woke up everyday scared and crying for what would happen next. We lost a part of my family in this horrific genocide.

My family and I are living a very difficult life right now. Contaminated water, little or no food, sleeping on the ground, and bombs are falling. Please help us get through this day. I ask you to help me get out of this swamp and live a decent life, complete my education, and live in peace. All I want is to live in peace and sleep safely. Prices here are very expensive, water is very expensive, and everything is very difficult to obtain. Thank you for reading this difficult story, and I hope you will help us.
