Running 100km for Friends of Oakfield Park
I’m raising money to support Friends of Oakfield Park, and any donation, no matter how small will make a real difference.
My family is at the heart of everything I do. I’m a husband to Kadie and a proud dad to two boys, Crew (Year 7) and Kray (Year 4). Our eldest, Crew, has autism and has been nonverbal throughout his life. From Year 2, it became clear that Crew needed a specialist setting to truly support his needs. He now attends Oakfield Park School, and the impact it has had on his education, development, and overall well-being has been incredible. The staff’s dedication and the environment they provide have made a lasting difference to Crew and to us as a family.
To give something back and recognise the work they do to support young people with severe, complex, and profound learning difficulties including those with autism I want to raise funds for Friends of Oakfield Park. These funds will help provide opportunities such as school trips and experiences that many of the pupils would not otherwise be able to access due to limited funding.
Alongside this, I wanted to set myself a personal challenge. Running has become a big part of my life over the past three years, pushing me to stay consistent, disciplined, and open to new challenges. So in June 2026, I’ll be taking on my biggest one yet: running 100km within 12 hours. Starting from Scarborough to Whitby Abbey and back…sounds easy right? It is going to be tough, but it feels right to channel that challenge into something meaningful.
Any support whether through a donation or simply sharing this page would mean a lot to me and my family, and will directly help create better opportunities for the young people at Oakfield Park.
Thank you in advance for your contribution and for helping keep me motivated along the way. Keep a track of my training and build up towards the event on Saturday 20th June 2026 via Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/95056209
