Dales Divide on a Cargo Bike

At the end of April, I’ll be taking on the Dales Divide - a 600+ km off-road coast-to-coast ride across some of the toughest terrain in the North of England. It’s a brutal mix of the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, and Lake District – and I’ll be doing it on a cargo bike. Yes, a cargo bike.
The goal? To set the Fastest Known Time (FKT) for the route on this type of bike.
The reality? It’s going to be a test of endurance, determination, and stubbornness in equal measure.
But this ride isn’t just about chasing a record.
Over the past few years, I’ve learned first-hand how mental health struggles can be invisible yet overwhelming. The outdoors and cycling have been my way of finding some balance, but not everyone has the same outlet or support.
That’s why I’m using this challenge to raise money for Mind – Hull and East Yorkshire. They do incredible work helping people access mental health services, counselling, and crisis support when they need it most.
This ride will mean long days, little to no sleep, and pushing through when everything in me wants to stop.
But that’s exactly why it matters – because mental health battles often feel the same way.
Every donation goes directly to Mind – Hull and East Yorkshire, helping them continue their vital work in our community.
If you can spare anything – whether it’s the price of a coffee or something more – it will make a huge difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean the world.
Let’s turn pedal strokes into positive change.
