The Challenger Division
provides boys and girls with physical and/or mental disabilities, an opportunity to play baseball regardless of their limitations. It is the Little Leagues way of providing new opportunities for children with disabilities to enjoy the game of baseball. This Division of the League is a supervised, volunteer based, non-profit and non-competitive structured athletic program.
Each year our Challenger program participates in the Jake Hardison Memorial (JHM) Challenger Jamboree
held in Virginia Beach, VA over Mother's Day weekend. It is something the children look forward to year after year! Teams from VA, MD, WV, PA, and MI participate in this three-day event. This event is more than just a chance for the children to play baseball, but for them to get the chance to participate in tournament play and be awarded with medals at the end of the tournament.
This past spring we tried to cancel some of our hotel rooms at the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel
. The hotel would not accept our cancellation and continued to charge us $1,318.88 for the used rooms that they were able to sell at a higher rate for a sold-out weekend. We are asking for your help to make-up the difference. If each family donated $20, we would raise more than enough to make-up the difference and be on our way to fundraising additional money for next year’s Jamboree. We are a non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductible. This is a win-win for everyone.
