Una madre lucha por su vida y por el amor de su hijo

Mi nombre es René Gael López Romo, tengo 17 años y soy estudiante de preparatoria.

Hoy pido ayuda por la persona más importante de mi vida: mi mami, Erika Noemí Romo López.

Mi mami siempre ha sido una mujer fuerte, trabajadora y llena de amor, pero su salud se ha deteriorado gravemente.

Actualmente sus riñones funcionan apenas al 9%, y los médicos han dicho que necesita un trasplante renal para poder seguir viviendo con calidad y esperanza. Sin este trasplante, las complicaciones aumentarán y su vida corre peligro.

Desde hace años ella enfrenta diabetes de difícil control, hipertensión, problemas de tiroides y piedras en los riñones. Estas enfermedades le han causado mucho dolor físico y agotamiento. En muchas ocasiones ha tenido crisis severas de azúcar, hinchazón en las piernas y decaimientos por su diabetes, pero siempre ha seguido adelante con fuerza y fe.

Mi mami estudió Radiología en la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA), pero por circunstancias de la vida y por dedicar todo su tiempo a nuestra familia, nunca pudo ejercer su profesión. Aun así, siempre ha buscado la forma de salir adelante, ayudando a los demás, cuidando, y enfrentando cada día con una sonrisa.

Mi papá, René Francisco López Orozco, es anestesiólogo y ha trabajado para cui

dar de nuestra familia. Hace algunos años él también se sometió a una cirugía mayor (válvula mecánica), y esos gastos médicos dejaron a la familia sin ahorros. A pesar de sus esfuerzos, los costos que requiere ahora el tratamiento y el trasplante de mi mami superan lo que podemos pagar en este momento.

Yo estoy por terminar la preparatoria y en un año entraré a la universidad. Este debería ser un momento de pensar en mi futuro, pero lo único que puedo pensar es en el bienestar de mi mami. Verla enferma ha sido lo más difícil que he vivido; me ha generado mucho estrés y miedo. Mi mami es mi apoyo, mi ejemplo y mi razón para seguir adelante. No sé qué haría si algún día ella me faltara.

Nuestra situación económica hace imposible cubrir los gastos médicos que vienen. Los costos del trasplante, las consultas, los estudios previos y los medicamentos inmunosupresores de por vida superan por mucho lo que podemos pagar.

Por eso acudo con humildad y esperanza a pedir ayuda.

Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, representa una oportunidad real de salvarle la vida a mi mami.

Give My Mom a Second Chance

A Mother Fighting for Her Life and for the Love of Her Son

My name is René Gael López Romo, I am 17 years old and a high school student.

Today, I am asking for help for the most important person in my life — my mom, Erika Noemí Romo López.

My mom has always been a strong, hardworking, and loving woman, but her health has severely deteriorated.

Her kidneys are now functioning at only 9%, and doctors have said she urgently needs a kidney transplant to keep living with quality and hope.

Without this transplant, her condition will continue to worsen and her life will be at serious risk.

For many years, she has battled hard-to-control diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, and kidney stones.

These illnesses have caused her constant pain and exhaustion. Many times, she has suffered severe drops in blood sugar, swelling in her legs, and episodes of weakness, yet she has always kept going — with faith and strength.

My mom studied Radiology at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (UAA), but life circumstances and her dedication to our family kept her from practicing her profession.

Even so, she has always found ways to move forward — caring for others, helping however she could, and facing every day with a smile.

My dad, René Francisco López Orozco, is an anesthesiologist who has worked tirelessly to care for our family.

A few years ago, he also underwent major heart surgery to receive a mechanical valve, and those medical expenses left our family without savings.

Despite his efforts, the current medical costs for my mom’s treatment and kidney transplant are far beyond what we can afford.

I’m about to finish high school and should be thinking about my future, but all I can think about is my mom’s health.

Seeing her sick has been the hardest experience of my life — it fills me with fear and sadness.

She is my strength, my example, and the reason I keep going.

I honestly don’t know what I would do if I ever lost her.

Our family’s financial situation makes it impossible to cover what lies ahead.

The expenses for the transplant, medical tests, consultations, and lifelong immunosuppressive medication are far greater than we can manage.

That’s why I’m asking for your help — with humility and hope.
