Dakotas medical bills and travel expenses

Hey everyone.
Many of you know Dakota and his love for riding. He started going to track days last year in Putnamville and decided this year he would race in the WERA organization. On February 24 we went to Talladega and he completed his first race. Moving forward we picked the next race to be at Roebling Raceway outside of Savannah, GA on March 16th. After some delays with our truck overheating we finally made it to the track on the 15th.
Dakota raced in three races and progressed every time. On the third race everything took a turn and on the last lap on the straightaway turning into turn one his bike malfunctioned and he couldn’t reduce his speed. Dakota and his bike flew through the air where his bike made impact to him. The bike was totaled and the crash had broken Dakota’s tibia and fibula with fractures to the tibia at the ankle, fracturing two vertebrae, and a grade 1 liver lac. He was transported from a small rural hospital to Savannah Memorial Hospital where they got him into surgery at 5am on the 17th. Dakotas surgery was 2 and a half hours long where they fixed the clean break to his tibia with a rod. He has been in recovery awaiting PT and a room.
Whenever the time comes to be discharged we have a long drive home but hopefully a speedy recovery.
We’ve been very fortunate this far with everything even after the accident, so many people have stepped up to aid us in this challenging situation. The WERA organization is an amazing family and has helped in so many ways. Their Chaplain, Mark Merical, gratuitously offered to pack our trailer and take it with the bike back home to Indiana for us. Making sure that we worry only about Dakota.
With that all being said, Dakota will still have a long road ahead with healing and getting him back to town. He wants to get back to work as soon as possible but with the healing time he may be out for a few weeks. He’s going to have a lot of medical expenses to sort through and a lot of upcoming appointments.
The funding he receives from this will go directly towards him and any bills or expenses he has while he’s out of work. Anything helps and is so much appreciated.
