Dakota's Fight: Healing after Tragedy
Spende geschützt

This is Dakota (21), he’s a phenomenal, strong young man and my little brother. He has worked incredibly hard his entire life and most recently it was to purchase his first motorcycle. On June 26th 2026, he finally got what he had been working SO hard for and purchased that bike. Less than 24 hours later he headed to Grand Lake to grab some ice cream and show off his new bike to his friends and coworkers.
As he was driving, someone decided to make an absolutely senseless decision crossing infront of him almost ending his life. This was not his fault. He did everything right. I cannot even begin to explain the anger, sadness, and questions we are all still feeling.
By the grace of God, he is still with us today. He has massive, devastating injuries and will never be the same. He has traumatic injuries and is in the ICU. But let me repeat, even though he is making good progress, he will never ever be the same. He thankfully had on full top of the line gear and that is one of the reasons he is still alive. God was with him on this day there is no doubt in my mind. There just happened to be nurses on scene and police, EMS, flight medics and staff at Denver Health have been phenomenal. I cannot begin to thank the people God placed infront of us and around Dakota. He is incredibly strong but so many people had their hands on him keeping him alive.
Again he did nothing wrong. This was NOT his fault. Motorcyclists should be respected on the roadways. People need to learn to take more care and responsibility for the lives around them. Things can be taken away so so quickly.
His road to recovery is long and we do not know what life will look like. Against all odds he is in good spirits, joking, smiling, and taking things very well. His journey has just started and we ask that prayers, love, and any donations be sent towards him and supporting him as he relearns to live this life.
If you can’t donate, words of love and support are greatly appreciated as well. Find him on socials and send him encouraging words.
All money is going towards his recovery, medical expenses, and travel expenses as we try and face this new challenge.
We love you Dakota, more than you can even imagine.
