Dakota's heart - We desperately need your help.

Our sweet little Heart Warrior Dakota was born on 7/24/25 with HLHS which is a serious heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. He will have to undergo and endure several surgeries to correct the function of his heart. He has had the first step, which was to place bands on his arteries to distribute blood flow and will under go his second open heart surgery on the 19th of August. Dakota will be in the hospital for an unknown amount of time. This second surgery, is just the beginning. Dakota will have many other surgeries coming up with an unknown healing time. The children's hospital is located three hours from Christian and Lexi's home. Dakota's parents, Christian and Lexi, also have one year old twin boys at home which are currently being cared for by family working a rotation of care. Currently Lexi is staying with Dakota at the Children's hospital in OKC, while Christian is working and trying to maintain the family finances. The unexpected expenses are piling up for the parents and the grandparents who are helping them. With the hospital three hours away the cost for fuel, lodging and food is staggering. The care for the twins also must be maintained with diapers, medication, food, etc. Right now the families main focus is ensuring that Dakota receives the care he needs, and trying to maintain normalcy for the boys. Any help they receive will go to cover the cost of food, lodging, pikepass, diapers, medication and living expenses at Christian and Lexi's house.
