"As you all know (or if you don't) I was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer. I've made it through eight rounds of chemo, in the hopes that it would shrink the tumor. Unfortunately, we did not receive the results we were expecting . After nearly five months of chemotherapy my tumor has not yet shrunk. The next step of my treatment plan is radiation. The radiation can shrink my tumor so that they are able to successfully remove all of my cancer in surgery. There is a brand new radiation treatment being offered to me at the Mayo Clinic here in Phoenix. This treatment has very high success rates. Unlike typical radiation, this treatment is able to target the cancer more, and give my surrounding organs less radiation. Being that i am so young, this therapy can potentially give me a better quality of life afterwards. My health insurance has proven to be a giant obstacle at this point. Insurance will only cover certain things (as we all expect), but one thing my insurance company is questioning is my treatment plan. Because this treatment is so new, it is considered experimental and they are deciding whether or not to cover the cost. As a family we have decided that whether or not the insurance will cover the cost, we will find a way to give me the best care and go through with this treatment as planned. Every contribution- no matter the amount- is a blessing.
This Go Fund Me will go towards my current and any future cancer treatments, as well as the cost of surgery which is unknown at this time. I, along with my family, have received an overabundance of support and well-wishes to the point that i cant put in to words how truly loved we feel. Thank you to everyone for generously caring for me and supporting me through this journey. "
