the latest:
Dakotah was able to move from the CCU into a less monitored room this week. He has been making strides towards being discharged in the next few days. Thank you all for your generous support through this unexpected event in Dakotahs life. Funds will be used towards deductibles/ co-pays. And general well being moving onward to at home recovery. It’s a months long process getting back 60% of the hearts normal functioning. Thank you all again for the love and support shown to Dakotah and his family!!!
Latest update! Heart rate and oxygen levels have been holding steadily. Drs were able to remove the balloon a few days ago and his heart is beating normally. next steps in recovery will be walking around. Drs are optimistic yet still taking their time in making sure it’s a full recovery. They did say this would have “taken out” a lot of other people and he’s the absolute man getting through this and healing as well as he has so far.
Dakotah had a successful surgery (Balloon Valvuloplasty). His breathing tubes have been removed and his heart is beating steadily. The recovery process takes time and he’s taking baby steps like a boss!
Dakotah is currently in ICU at Hoag in Newport Beach. He was sick with flu like symptoms for a couple months. It snowballed and the virus attacked his heart. He is in stable condition but is being assisted by a breathing tube. His kidneys, heart and lungs are fighting this virus with all their strength. Dak is a young healthy stud and has youth on his side. This is diagnosed as “acute heart failure” it is extremely serious and we all want him to receive the best treatment possible. We all love Daks infectious laugh and bubbly dance moves! Any amount you can afford to give would help ease the stress and burden of life saving care. Heck, I’m sure Dak would appreciate some thoughts and prayers right now! Please keep Scott, Debbie and Hayle close to your heart as well.
