Hunter's Hope

On August 24 in the early morning, I received a phone call from my cousin Emily that I will never forget. My baby brother lost his battle to a terrible addiction that runs deep in Orlando, and it was a shock to our entire family. When you lose someone so suddenly, it seems as though they just went on an extended vacation, coming to realization that he isn't coming back has brought me typing here.
The last time I saw my brother was in July 2020, and he talked about what his life would look like post pandemic,  he marched with me thru the streets for BLM, and he promised me change. Due to the pandemic, it caused a lot of families stress and caused our family even more grief that we were simply not allowed to have a memorial to honor  our dear Hunter. We did our part to do what we could as a family to give him a good memorial, but I still sit here writing this knowing there are so many other lives that Hunter touched who wished they could grieve with our family. Hunter wished to be cremated, which is an unknown territory to my parents as all of our family has been buried. This memorial donation would be going towards a space in Tranquil Oaks, which is a cremation garden, where we are going to be placing Hunter's ashes for anyone to go and visit with. He loved his family, and his friends more than anything! Once we get the space, there will be a ceremony that will be open to all of the people who cherished him as much as we do. From our entire family, we appreciate even the smallest donation.
