Milton Pritchett's Medical Needs
Donation protected
As most of you know, my PaPaw, Milton Pritchett fell from the top of a ladder on January 2, 2016 while trying to put Christmas decorations in the attic. He fell onto the garage floor fracturing his pelvis and the L4 vertebrae. He has been in the hospital and rehab since. Not only is he facing a long road of physical recovery, but his mental health has rapidly declined since the accident. Papaw was diagnosed with early signs of dementia before the fall and this incident has made this progress. He has episodes of hallucinating, psychosis, and not remembering to eat, swallow, and other simple functions. With him not remembering the extent of his injuries he is at risk of hurting himself further. He has been prescribed medicines that he will now be on for the remainder of his life to help retard the progression of the dementia. We found out this week that my grandparents' insurance will only cover 20 days in the rehab facility. After that, it is over $200 per day for him to stay. At the rate we are going he will need more care than 20 days. To add to this, Granny had to take a medical retirement right before the accident due to medical complications she is having herself. If/when Papaw is able to return home there are major changes that we have to make to their home for his safety that will also be out of pocket expenses. He will most likely have to have a nurse come even after he is home. We have had a ton of people ask if they can do anything for us during this time. If you feel led to make a donation toward his medical expenses that would be such a blessing for my Granny. I want her to be able to focus on Papaw getting better and taking care of herself rather than worrying about money. Most importantly, please continue to pray for his recovery! Thank you!
