Hi, my name is Sherry and my Granddaughter, Daizy, is a remarkable 24 year old woman with an infectious smile. She has a bright wonderful future ahead of her. Her fiancé and her have two beautiful boys and live in Redmond Oregon. In late July of 2023, their lives took a sudden turn when she noticed a lump in her left breast. Then came a series of appointments, mammograms, ultrasounds and trips to the oncologist and surgeons.
On August 31st she was diagnosed with breast cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma) which is considered rare in Daizy's case because of her young age. Daizy was told if she had a double mastectomy, she may not need chemo or radiation. She had her first surgery in November 2023 and when the pathology test came back, the doctors determined that Daizy needed to have chemo.
She started chemotherapy February 1st and completed it April 4th. Unfortunately, the extensive treatment regimen comes with some very challenging side effects like horrible mouth sores that makes it hard to eat or drink, diarrhea then constipation, tremendous weakness and fatigue, brain fog, bone pain and neuropathy (incapacitating numbness in her extremities, i.e. fingers and toes). This fight has been physically and emotionally draining for all of us. She had her second surgery yesterday, April 24th. Daizy will have a two week recovery from this surgery and must quarantine for that same two weeks before her next surgery. The 3rd and (hopefully) final surgery will be a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction on May 10th, 2024.
The doctor says the recovery time is about 12 weeks from the mastectomy, so Daizy will be off work at least through August.

Daizy, the heart and soul of her family, is known to be the person that is always there to support or help anyone in need. She is kind, helpful, and loving. A humble person with an incredible zest for life, brightening up the lives of the people around her.
Daizy is unable to work through the rest of her treatment, and her income is needed for them to be able to get by.

That's why I am reaching out for your support. Through this GoFundMe campaign, we hope to raise funds to cover:
• Medical expenses: includes medications not covered by insurance and other treatment-related costs.
• Additional therapy: to help manage the side effects and improve her overall well-being.
• Monthly expenses: such as rent, power bill, car payment, and insurance.
• Groceries and other necessities: to help them navigate this challenging time, your contribution will ensure that they can cover basic necessities.

No amount is too small, and every contribution will significantly impact their lives. Your support will ease their financial burden and provide Daizy with enormous strength and encouragement during her treatment. I want to help my brave girl, who fights this disease every day with immense optimism, to keep fighting without fear and I need your help to do so.

Please consider sharing this campaign with your network on social media. Together, we can show the power of community support in Daizy's time of need.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.

With gratitude,
Daizy's family.
