Daisy's walk for Cosmic
St Mary's hospital means alot to our family. Daisy who has many health complications was admitted to the Intensive care unit when she was 3 months old and she remained there for 3 months . 36 days of that on life support.
These months were the hardest of our life as a family. Daisy has 4 sisters and having to live away from them as mother was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
Along with the staff of St Mary's cosmic were a great support to us. Being on maternity leave and having to support my family as a single parent became a real financial struggle for me. Cosmic knew this and kindly donated me £600 which enabled me to pay my bills and support my Daughters at home. I always promised I would find away to return this very kind gesture.
On Sunday the 28th November Daisy will be taking on a very tough challenge. Daisy will leave St Davids hotel (the hotel I stayed in) and walk to St Marys Intensive care unit. In total 0.7 miles . May not sound much of a challenge to some but Daisy has Down Syndrome and her biggest complication is she has very poor muscle tone and at the age of 4 Daisy is still unable to walk. With the help of physio and walking aids Daisy is taking supported steps. This is going to be a very tough challenge but I know Daisy can do this. The money she raises will enable COSMIC to help families just like mine
