Daisy (Siberian Husky) Cancer Surgery Fundraiser

Daisy is a super sweet nine-year-old Siberian Husky who needs a growing tumor removed from her leg. We adopted Daisy from our elderly father in August 2023 when we moved them from Tennessee to Rhode Island. On arrival, Daisy had a small lump on her leg; it was thought to be a fatty mass with no urgency to remove. Testing on the lump occurred earlier in 2024 as it grew; again, it was flagged as a fatty mass that had gained a blood supply. At the end of March, as recommended, we made an appointment with Ocean State Vet for a surgical consult scheduled for July.

On Daisy's surgical consult, we learned the worst: it was both a fatty mass and a growing tumor. The mass had grown considerably between March and July, particularly in the last few weeks, so the need to complete Daisy's surgery is high.

Daisy's surgery has two options; we are selecting the option that will save her leg. The cost is estimated at $4,842.77 - 5,162.77; we are fundraising for $5,500 in case of additional costs.

Due to Daisy's lump existing before her Nationwide Pet insurance started, the coverage for the surgery, scans, and any additional care afterward will not be reimbursed.

Daisy has a special place in our hearts. I know all dogs do, but she is one of Aaron and I's last connections to our mother. My dad adopted her in May of 2015; my mother named her Daisy, and less than a year later, our mom died of breast cancer.

To have Daisy also battling cancer has levels of extra baggage, and the last thing we want is the cost to be a factor in Daisy living a long pup life.
