Our beloved Daisy Zhang is experiencing the most challenging journey in her life. Daisy, upon turning 31 years old this year, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in April 2022 called Osteosarcoma.

Daisy has been engaged to her fiancé Kevin since 2019. Her wedding has been postponed multiple times due to COVID.

When the cancer diagnosis was made in April this year, it broke this young couple's heart. Also the heart of her mother and father in China. Daisy does not have family in Australia, and Kevin is the only family member in Australia.

Daisy has battled through three rounds of chemotherapy treatment since April in the hope that her cancer can be controlled. Under the care and guidance of the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre, Daisy is now eligible to go through extensive and critical surgery to remove the cancer from her affected areas; this will mean that Daisy will have her arm amputated along with removal of other diseased organs and tissue. The surgery is scheduled end of September.

Kevin is staying positive as a family that Daisy will fight this and win. He has been by her side each and every day, however Daisy is understandably devastated, traumatised, and exhausted.

This journey is far from over and Daisy needs all the support and love from all of us. The next stage of Daisy's journey will be one of managing life post surgery and all the challenges this will bring. Many of you have reached out and want to do something to help.
