Hi my name is Scott, and I am raising money for my daughter who has an illness called Pulmonary Hypertension.

 

In April 2020, as the pandemic had just kicked off, our lives changed forever when we had a video call with Great Ormond Street hospital, specifically the Pulmonary Hypertension team. The doctors informed us that despite Daisy’s successful heart surgery in June 2019, Daisy had a condition called pulmonary hypertension. They informed us that this condition was a Terminal Illness and that Daisy would have a 50% chance that she would make it to 10 years old and a 50% she won’t.

 

For anyone that has the joy of being of a parent, you can understand the devastation this left our family in, to be told your daughter is terminally ill. I love my children more than life itself and I refuse to believe in a world where Daisy isn’t in it. Quite recently, hopes of a treatment have come to light through research called the Hybrid Heart. It needs a lot of funding but it can save not only our Daisy but anyone with heart failure. It’s basically a bionic heart and a link to the website is https://www.hybridheart.eu/

 

Our aim is to raise as much money as possible in the hope that a cure can be made for pulmonary hypertension. So I will be cycling 21km a day during PHA (pulmonary Hypertension Awareness) week and Mel will be walking 2.1km a day with Daisy and Jaxon to raise awareness and funding for this charity.

 

Daisy is my inspiration to get up every morning and I want to raise as much as we can, to give her the best chance of surviving this condition. I will be using FB live to cycle during 1st-7th November and we will be hoping to do some fundraising events over the next few months to raise funds.
