Daily Grind Meltdown Recovery
Donation protected
During the evening of Sunday, Oct 25, an electricity pole caught fire near the Daily Grind (29 North, near CVS), causing cables and wires to melt, resulting in a power outage. By 7am on Monday, all of the ice cream at Daily Grind had melted. The Daily Grind lost all of its inventory (not to mention all of the other dairy and perishables that they keep in refrigerators and freezers for coffees and food).
Sam and Allyson are simply wonderful people and have added SO much to the Charlottesville community. Their small business has done so much for our town, and, amid the pandemic, has been able to survive to this point. Please join me in raising some funds to help replace their lost inventory. A 3-gallon tub of ice cream costs approximately $30-$40, so a donation of $15-$20 would replace half a tub of ice cream. Thank you for your consideration.
