Daily Farm Greenhouse

We are a husband and wife flower and vegetable farm in Southern Indiana. We grow specialty cut flowers and are starting vegetable production this year. We have created this farm completely on our own dime - but now we want to ask our community for support.

On March 3rd, we lost our greenhouse to the wind storm. We’d been anxiously watching it hold through the storm as the wind picked up. Wind was clocked in our area at 80-90 mph. It was there one minute and quite literally gone the next.. this beautiful thing we valued so much. All of our work. All the money we spent. All the time we spent. The hassle of getting it permitted. The build. The plants inside. The promise of how it was going to help us this year. It was a crumpled up ball of metal and plastic and wood and time and money within a minute. We are in absolute disbelief — and so disappointed. It’s painful to even look at.

This structure is essential for us to have season extension of our crops, and would increase the profitability of our farm. At best, we will have to completely rebuild and replace parts on this structure. At worst — we must completely replace it. The tunnel is by Farmer’s Friend. It’s a pro gothic tunnel - 14ft wide by 50ft long. With any extra money, we will buy trees to break the wind.
