My name is Daija Douglas. I am honored to be representing the North Texas region by competing in this year's Miss Texas USA pageant. The event will take place this summer on July 1st & July 2nd in Houston, Texas. 

 

The MISS TEXAS USA pageant is the official state preliminary pageant in the most prestigious pageant system in the world – MISS USA®/ MISS UNIVERSE®

 

Considering there have only been two (2) Black Miss Texas USA winners in the pageant's history, I hope to progressively carry that torch onward as a woman of color because representation matters!

 

So, where do you come in?

 

In preparation for the big stage, a number of items are required for the most successful presentation and candidacy. These items can be categorized as administration fees, beauty, wardrobe, travel and training.

 

With this opportunity, I intend to elevate my platform for public speaking, women's empowerment initiatives, sports and entertainment endeavors, and the personal development of others. Through my actions and service, I will pay it forward to provide a voice for the voiceless and stand in the gap for those searching for meaning, passion, and purpose in their lives.
