Dai & Nia, Richard & Wendy's make every day count
Donation protected
My name is Malcolm, I am a relatively new DJ playing mainly Soul & Motown, you may have seen me around a few venues, or heard me on Mon Fm where I host “Soul on Sunday”
But enough about me, I want to talk about Dai Orrells. Dai was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), now I don’t need to go into details about this debilitating disease, and its effects on the person and their loved ones. Dai’s loving partner Nia was my babysitter in the late 70’s to early 80’s and is a good friend, this is why this is so important to me. Due to the worsening of Dai’s condition in the recent months, Nia and Dai are trying to do as many things as they can while they are able to, which is why I have come up with this idea, to help them, Nia has had to drastically reduce her hours to care for Dai, and this has a massive financial impact on their ability to do some things most of us take for granted. Wendy is a colleague of mine and her partner Richard is currently undergoing tests etc. for a type of this horrible disease.
I am going to be hosting a fundraiser on the 13th of September 2025 at the City Sports & Cocktail bar Bangor. I will run this event from 5pm until 9pm, playing a spread of music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s 90’s, (inc some Soul & Motown). There is no entry charge but we would ask you to make a donation to support.
I would also like to ask anyone (individuals or businesses) who can and would like to donate, however great or small will be greatly appreciated.
I also understand that it’s very difficult to give financially in this current climate, so if you are not able to donate or attend, can I just ask that you please do the one thing that won’t cost you anything, Share the message, tell your friends, family, work colleagues or employer.
There isn’t a lot of time to get this up and running, so if you are able to support please come forward!
