Our car was stolen!!! :(

Hello friends,

Yotam and Paola here. We recently got married in Italy and relocated to California. We purchased our first car together yesterday, a Toyota Camry, from someone on Marketplace. We met with the person and went for a test drive. The car seemed fine, just a bit of wear and tear from the inside, but enough to get us around while we were trying to live in Encino. We were so excited!

After paying in cash and buying the car, we drove around a bit, and everything seemed fine. We parked the car across the street from where we were staying at around 8 pm and called it a day.

We woke up this morning looking forward to changing titles in the DMV and possibly cleaning the car to discover it stolen from where we parked it. Our first instinct was that the vehicle was towed, but we didn't park in a towing zone. The titles and registration were naively left inside the glove compartment overnight, so we don't even have that information or the license plate number to try and track it down since we didn't take many photos; we were just happy to be driving around.

While we prefer to keep positive about situations like these rather than dwell on them and feel sorry for ourselves, we humbly ask for your help so we can adequately buy a car and move on from this incident.
