Hey there, my name is Kris, & I’m reaching out from Alberta, Canada with a heavy heart.
Just this past week (October 20th), I had to say goodbye to my senior pyrenees (11.5 years old) — my best friend and companion — after a fight with bone cancer. It was the hardest day of my life, & though I gave him peace, it left a hole in my heart and in my finances.
Now, heartbreakingly in the same week (October 23rd), my 1.5 year old pyrenees has been diagnosed with ligament injuries to both of her back knees (cruciate ligament tears). Without surgery, she’ll lose her ability to walk comfortably, run, or even play — things that every dog deserves to do, especially ones of her age.
The surgery she needs for both knees will cost nearly $12,000, and after spending nearly $1,000 to euthanize my senior dog, I simply have nothing left to give financially. I’m doing everything I can — talking to vets, exploring assistance programs, trying to sell a vehicle, & cutting costs where possible — but I can’t cover this alone.
If you’re able to help, every donation (no matter how small) goes directly to her surgery and recovery.
Your kindness will help her stand, walk, and live a pain free life again.
Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign or sending words of support means more than I can express.
*** Update (10/31/25) ***
Daenerys had surgery on her right leg. The vet informed us that the ligament was completely severed in her leg. We have built a ramp leading from the house to the yard to help make it easier for her to get into the yard to do her business, as well as ordering her a doggy wheelchair so that she doesn't need to be lifted with a towel everytime she wants to move around. It will take approx. 3 months for her to rehab this leg & get back to moving around somewhat properly on it again. Then once she's good, she'll be off to get her left leg done.
Thank you for reading, for caring, & for helping me give this sweet girl the second chance she deserves.
With gratitude,
Kris
