Daemons recovery fund, for healthcare fees

Donation protected
My name is Aliera Visconti, and I'm doing this fundraiser for my father, Daemon. I'm 18, and right before thanksgiving, I got a call that my da was sick and needed help. I was able to get him to the hospital and found out that he had a stroke. He has experienced some vision loss, as well as most feelings on the left side of his body. He is able to walk and eat, but it is quite difficult for him to function on his own at the moment. He is left-handed, so not being able to use his left side without concentrating is incredibly difficult. With the proper medical care, such as physical therapy and OT (relearning how to dress, walk with confidence, and other daily necessities) he could be able to recover a lot of his fine motor skills and concentration. However, the first few months are vital, and as a contractor without health insurance at the moment, he is unable to qualify for inpatient care. Which has made it hard for me to find a way to get him the treatment he needs. If you are able to help at all I would be so grateful, even a dollar can help me save up enough to cover his ER and hospital fees, as well as his rehabilitation fees.

To give you an idea of who my father is, I want to tell you a little bit about him, his story. Da had an incredibly difficult childhood. His parents died when he was young, and he grew up with distant relatives that did not treat him well. He was able to graduate from university and found friends that allowed him to leave his old life behind. He was able to travel, learn multiple languages, and help people from around the world. He worked in New York and met some incredible people there, learning the intricacies of IT and engineering. Using this knowledge, and some of his other skills, he was able to help a group in Mozambique get food and water and helped build an irrigation system in Guinea Bissau. He moved to Colorado before I was born, and stayed home to take care of me as a child, he read to me every night before bed and stayed up late at night comforting me if I had a nightmare. His passion for reading and history led to his becoming an amazing storyteller, and he would entrance me in tales of fanciful lands filled with intricate details and many different characters. Even when he was struggling for money, he took care of me and never let me go hungry, never let me go without a place to sleep with soft pillows and warm blankets. When he moved to Longmont he was able to find a canopy bed for me, something I had admired since I was little, watching movies and seeing them in Harry Potter. He has always supported me in anything I wanted to do. So I want to do everything I can for him. He deserves to be taken care of properly, so that he may walk freely, to earn a living working with his passion for programming computers and learning new ways to complete tasks.

Thank you so much for the time you've taken to read his story, and I appreciate any help or well wishes you are able to send.

Sincerely, Aliera
