Psychosocial Support Program for Children in Gaza Strip.
I am Ibrahim Zaki, a psychologist and founder of DAEIM Center for Autism in Gaza Strip since 6 years ago.
We are raising funds for the psychosocial support project. All funds will be spent in needed tools and materials to conduct therapy sessions and to gift rewards for the children.
1. Program overview
DAEIM is a Palestinian-led initiative. DAEIM is currently on its 6th year since it was founded in Gaza, successfully conducting many psychosocial activities for autistic children. However, due to financial difficulties, the program had stopped and started again after the 2023 war.
2. Initiative description
DAEIM Center for Autism is an initiative that committed to provide psychosocial support and trauma relief for children in Gaza Strip. Recognizing the how horrific the impact of the ongoing genoce on children and critical need for psychosocial support, we establish well-equipped therapy sessions staffed by qualified specialists.
3. Program objectives
Here are the objectives of our program:
✅ Provide psychological and social services to children with autism and comprehensive developmental delay in the Gaza Strip
✅ Create a safe and secure place for autistic children for training and rehabilitation and to discover the talents and creativity of autistic children
✅Seeks to be the link between the autistic child and his family through the family communication skills necessary for proper dealing and communication with their child
4. Current activities
We are currently running a support group system (25-30 children) to receive sessions of physical activities, drawing activities, and many more. Moreover, we also conduct individual therapy sessions for children who experience severe trauma.
5. Impact assessment
Since February 2024, until today, about 1500-2000 children in Rafah and Khan Yunis have benefited from the program, and 20 psychosocial support activities were implemented in February , and 3 specialists were employed in Gaza. The benefit was through the following services (psychological counseling for parents, psychological support sessions, individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, recreational days).
6. Continued support needed
We are seeking your support to help us in providing psychosocial support for children in Gaza. Now, our priorities are to provide physical activity and individual therapy.
Here are the details:
✅For physical activity, we need approximately $1,000 for 3 sessions inclusive of the fee for the specialists, media, materials,tools, and complimentary snacks for the participants
✅For individual therapy, we need approximately $500 per session, inclusive of the fee for the specialists, tools for therapy, and gift rewards for the children

We are committed to the program's long-term sustainability.
Our strategies include:
✅Capacity Building: Investing in training local specialists and community members to strengthen their skills in delivering psychosocial support and trauma relief
✅Resource Mobilization: Diversify funding sources and explore innovative fundraising strategies to secure financial support for ongoing operations and expansion initiatives
✅Monitoring, Evaluating, and Adaptation: Continuously monitoring progress, evaluating feedback from stakeholders, and adapting strategies as needed to address emerging challenges and capitalise on opportunities for improvement
8. Partnership and collaboration Strong partnerships are vital to the program's success.
We collaborate with:
✅NGO and Civil Society Organisation: we have collaborated with several NGO such as Markaz Bil Quran Ihtada, Abdullah Hood Indonesia, Palsmutual Aid, and The Zaynab Project to leverage resources, share best practices, and maximise impact
✅ Social media influencer: We have collaborated with several influencers who actively share their support and thoughts towards Palestinian to improve the engagement of our program that we share through our page
