My name is Scott Schaefer, and I am the father of two adorable girls, Bryce (aged 8) and Josephyne (aged 6). My most important mission in life is to be the best dad that I can be for them. My focus for them is family-positive activities and facilitating them being happy, normal kids.
I am reaching out to the community for financial assistance. After an acrimonious and arguably unfair divorce proceeding, I am still fighting “the good fight” - to be the father my little girls need me to be.

In the brief but precious times that we get to be together, we do everything as a little family! Whether it’s teaching them responsibility and caring through raising our yellow lab and perky ferret… taking them to father/daughter dances… or getting them active in the outdoors. I live to be part of their lives.
Through my work as the IT Director for French Woods Festival for the Performing Arts (a camp program that champions STEAM initiatives), I make sure to get them involved with other kids in fun and engaging activities that they would otherwise never the ability to participate in… such as horseback riding, making art, or doing circus acrobatics. It brings me joy to see them learn new things, as they grow into my little ladies.
They are my source of joy and light in life.
I am fighting to ensure my family’s physical, emotional, mental, and financial stability, by seeking full and fair joint custody. I’m living in housing at French Woods, my job, because the attorney fees keep piling up as I persist in the fight for my girls. I have also leaned on family and friends for help, and my resources are dwindling.
When the Judge appointed a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in my divorce case, the GAL ignored basic procedures and the exploration/reporting phase got completely botched up. During this time, my visitation rights were compromised, and the day-to-day of the proceedings damaged our family unit. The Judge then went with the GAL’s recommendations in terms of custody, cross-referencing financials brought up in the case, and ruled in favor of my ex-wife, anyway.
Now I am required to pay out a daunting, budget-breaking monthly child support and maintenance allocation. I also am required to pay all of the legal fees she has incurred during the proceedings - which I need to pay in full, in less than 30 days.
And all I want to do is be a dad to my two daughters.
If you are able to donate any money towards my legal fees or other related expenses, you would have my deepest gratitude! I seriously have fought in vain to provide the best for my family, and I am now reaching out for your support, in light of this gross legal injustice.
