Hi everyone, my name is Cara.
On Sunday (11/5) at approx. 9:45 PM, my dad, Robert, was riding Lime scooter home. Someone then hit him with their car and drove off. Soon after the crash, he suffered seizures and had to be put into a medically induced coma. Fortunately, he was able to leave the hospital that following Saturday.
While we have had many triumphs in this horrible situation, the physical and mental toll of a brain injury has been taking over the last couple of months. My dad has to walk with a cane, take extreme seizure medication, and give up his livelihood as a ballroom dance instructor. Since he can't drive, he is essentially confined to his apartment. In addition to all of this, there haven't been any leads on the case, and the police don't seem confident in finding whoever did this. My dad and I have worked tirelessly to do what we can for the investigation and are not giving up.
I'm creating this GoFundMe to help relieve some stress for him as he starts to get better. We have a really long road ahead of us, and we would really love to focus on his well-being as much as possible. We are working on getting him a job to cover expenses eventually, but in the meantime, we need some help. ❤️
