In August of last year, Peter Datka passed away after his battle with an illness. He was a father, brother, and friend to many, and his memory continues to live on in our hearts. Peter was known for his outgoing nature and intelligence, qualities that I will always admire. Growing up, I heard stories about his time at Culver Academy and witnessed his personal achievements. He taught me valuable lessons that have shaped my life in meaningful ways. Although he left us prematurely, my dad has left behind a legacy of cherished memories and a rich family history. He always dedicated himself fully to whatever he pursued. During his illness, I saw him struggle, and it was evident that he cared more about us than his own condition. As his health declined, and we faced limited options, the weight of medical expenses and the emotional strain on our family was substantial. This period truly highlighted the depth of our affection for you. Peter Datka, a beloved father, brother, and friend to many, may you find eternal peace. My family and I initiated a GoFundMe campaign with the aim of alleviating any unforeseen medical expenses and also to provide necessary assistance for educational pursuits. Nicole, our eldest, temporarily put her studies on hold to assist Peter during his time in hospice. Unfortunately, due to the financial and familial support required, she hasn't been able to resume her education. On the other hand, Ashley, our youngest, is currently enrolled in a community college, diligently working towards an A.S. degree in Radiographic Technology. Peter's one wish was for his kids to finish school. While a year has passed, the journey has been challenging as we grapple with unexpected financial burdens.
08/31/2022: we are saddened to say that tata has passed away early morning on the 31st. He fought so hard. He really tried to keep pushing but God had different plans for him. We are so saddened to have lost our hero, our Superman, our rock, our best friend.
