Help Us Bury Our Dad
The Backstory
Hi my name is Tina, the eldest of 3. On Monday 20th May 2019, Abel, Catherine and I lost our dad. He passed away from Motor Neutone Disease - ALS at the age of only 60 years.
His case was an extremely aggressive one especially with the late diagnosis and he quickly became bed bound and totally dependent on family, carers and machines within months.
His health deteriorated to the point of respiratory failure and he unfortunately died leaving behind the 3 of us and our sick mother; his wife.
Both parents being ill, took a physical, emotional and mental toll on all of us. I had to drop out of university where I was studying MSc Molecular Medicine at Imperial College London to take care of my parents, my brother Abel had to take time out, and my sister Catherine had to keep coming home from Birmingham to help our parents and all of our grades suffered as a result of this.
With our ill mother unable to work and all of us still young this tragic occurrence has left us shocked and financially burdened.

The Costs
Funerals are expensive and with no funeral plan set up or savings, my siblings and I have to foot the cost. Burial plots range from £3000 - £25000 and sometimes more depending on the cemetery and borough that you live in. There is also an interment fee for them too dig up the hole and bury the body which can be up to £1000+.
Then there’s the cost of the flower tributes which cost £200+ each and funeral programs, reception hall, musicians, food and drinks etc. The costs keep piling up.
How You Can Help
We would deeply appreciate aid from anyone who can help us at this time. Even if it’s just £1 or £10 whatever you can do to help us would be greatly appreciated. Please help us pay our last respects and give our father the send-off.
