Dad's Dream Lexus

Donation protected
Hi there.

Together, we are raising funds for my dad, who is currently suffering very badly from metastatic prostate cancer. We are aiming to raise enough money to buy him his dream Lexus so that he can be more comfortable and happy when driving.

I'm Joseph and I live in Milton of Campsie just at the edge of Glasgow, Scotland. I'm 23 years old and my brother, Christopher, is 20.

Our dad has been struggling with cancer for many years. At first, he fought hard against it and you would never know the pain he was going through because he was so young and so strong. Always out working on his and our cars. Even taking part in football and basketball to keep himself fit and helping my brother and I run a community basketball club pre-covid. As Covid hit... Things went bad, and they went bad quickly.

Unfortunately, Covid hit so hard that my dad wasn't seen for several months. Within this time, the cancer had grown to unseen levels. By the time he was checked, it had already reached an irreversible point and he would never be able to fully recover. Our dad, Jay, still fought so hard against it and continued to do his best to keep fit and stay active mentally and physically. But one by one, the treatments failed to work.

Right now, the cancer has spread so much that he struggles to move without pain. Just lying in bed is agony at times. He had to go to hospital and still remains inside, undergoing the best treatment he can receive to make sure he feels okay.

Our dad is a massive car lover. He is the person who got both me and my brother into the world of cars. For a while now, he has mentioned that he will need a nice and comfortable car to drive around in now that he is in pain all over his body. And his dream was always to own the classic LS400. Sadly, the cancer has forced him to stop working and he can't afford to buy it himself.

Trying to save in the current financial climate is very tough. So we thought we should try and start a fundraiser. It's something we have considered in the past but have never had the courage to do it. But we feel that our dad deserves something special after all the work he has done on our cars and all the good he has done as our dad. He has suffered for years and has never managed to catch a break amongst it all especially as he is not even 50 years old yet, with his own mum now being very ill and his mother-in-law passing away last year.

It would mean the world and back for us to be able to do this for our dad. He really does deserve this. If nothing else we want him to be happy and comfortable in a nice car that he has wanted for a long time.

£3000 will be a great amount to put towards a car for him.
