Surviving Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Betsy Hough and I started this campaign on behalf of my daughter and son-in-law. Meghan and Jason are the loving parents of two beautiful children; Lillian 3 and Jason 9-months. About two years ago Jason was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He immediately  had a tumor removed and underwent GBT treatment to eradicate the cancer. He was doing good until on his 1-year anniversary the cancer returned. They removed the tumor and he again underwent an enhanced GBT treatment for about 6-months, only to have it return again. Jason was given two choices: have his bladder removed or die of bladder cancer. So at the young age of 38 Jason faced the unimaginable, he would need to have the bladder removed. Jason is a strong young man and is home recovering from the surgery to remove his bladder and rebuild a new one from his own body tissue. It is rare that doctors treat someone of this age for this type of cancer and  they are impressed with his recover thus far. We are all so grateful for the skills of the doctors, nurses and surgeon to save this man’s life. We have high hopes for Jason’s recovery. We know he will just kick A$$ during this time.

What I am worried about are the medical bills. And all the other bills that are piling up because you are on disability. Your wife is taking care of you so her shifts are scarce. Going back to work is on the horizon but not quite in reach yet. The money spent on medical bills to save your life was the money you already spent to pay your mortgage, your car payment, to fix your roof and buy tires to make your vehicle safe for the family. When you are a struggling Middle-class family living the American Dream every penny you earn goes to keeping that dream alive. Cancer is not part of that dream. The treatments and surgery have put this hard working family in a bad place financially. Please help me help them survive more than cancer. Please help me give them a little room to catch their breath, to breathe in the miracle of living another day. The stress of the surgery and recovery is oppressive. A little help will go a long way.

Please share this campaign because even a little will go a long way.  Thank you so much for your kindness.
