STORY:

"Rodrigo is an unstable, and materialistic queer man who falls madly in love with his sugar daddy. Rodrigo's best friend finds out that he is married to a woman and has a new born son. His world collapses along with his mind. Heartbroken and mentally disturbed, he goes on a quest to seek revenge."

WHO I AM:

Hi, my name is Jay Beckett and I am the writer and director of this film. I am a student at The Los Angeles Film School.

I'm creating a GoFundme to raise funds to cover my thesis work: Daddy. A coming to age horror and psychological thriller with a twist of Romance.

WHY FUND THIS PROJECT?

While Writing this film, I was inspired by great fictional characters such as Norman Bates from psycho, and Andrew Cunanan from The Assassination of Gianni Versace.

"Daddy" touches the subjects of diversity and mental health awareness.

HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED?

Funds will cover different production expenses such as studio rental, meals, wardrobe, props, hair and make-up and cast.

JAY BECKETT, Director

Jay Cameron Beckett, best known as Jay Beckett, is an American Actor, Director, and Filmmaker. He was born in Lima, Peru before moving to Los Angeles, California. He started as an actor and starred in many short Films and Theater plays. Then after years of acting, he made a transition to Filmmaking and started his education in filmmaking and directing at The Los Angeles Film School.

Jay is a motivated and passionate filmmaker, always looking for new challenges and opportunities.

Liam Nugent, Producer

Liam Nugent grew up in Denver, CO and moved to Los Angeles in 2020 to attend film school. He will be graduating in July with a degree in directing. In addition to producing and directing, he writes and have a background in audio engineering. The most important thing about Liam is that I LOVE MOVIES and I love making movies. "I cannot wait to start shooting Daddy!"

Allyson Estrada

Allyson Estrada is a Los Angeles Based Cinematographer, actively seeking opportunities to discover the greater potential within herself. Starting her career as a creative director for small companies, She discovered a strong passion for storytelling. Now, she has been in the field for over 5 years.

With, now, a B.A. in film, she has done the cinematography of over 10 films.

Jocelyn Ramos Sepúlveda

Jocelyn is a first generation Mexican-American. Graduated from LAFS with B.A. in Film Production (concentration in writing and directing). With a love for all things art and design. She has found herself in several roles in throughout the art department. Jocelyn has a passion for learning and aims to tell stories about unrepresented and oppressed groups in our society; as well as stories that spark deeper thought about life, and behavior.

Carlos Melendez Lisboa

Born in San Juan, PR, Carlos has been involved in variety of art forms ever since he was a child. From acting in theatre to becoming Madame LaQueer: A now world famous drag queen. With an eye for performative arts and the skillsets acquired by being a drag performer, Carlos embraces a journey to the filmmaking realm with a unique perspective and focus acquired by his 22 years of experience in the entertainment industry. His current focus is to be a Casting and Art Director.
