Dad's one wish

On 3/19/19, my dad was diagnosed with a tumor on his bladder. Prior to surgery, his kidneys failed. The tumor removal was fairly successful but there were still some lingering cancer cells. Although his kidneys mostly recovered, those remaining cancer cells metastisized quickly. This is a rare, extremely invasive and aggressive form of cancer that is now in the lymph nodes. The doctors have told us that all they can do is make him comfortable and the end is very very close. He wants to spend his last days at home. Hospice is covered by insurance, caretakers are not. They definitely are worth every penny they charge but our family is in that special section of "completely screwed" where we make too much to qualify for Medicare (world cover 24/7 care) but can't afford the out of pocket costs for a caretaker. The purpose of this fundraiser is to allow dad to be home and have mom spend his last days with him without sacrificing the house because she is out of paid leave at work. Mom and dad are a 1 income household and without mom's income, well...that's not something that anyone should have to worry about when dealing with a terminal illness.
