Dad's Aneurism/Stroke

Donation protected
On Oct. 16th what we all thought was a “heart attack” ends up being an Aneurism my dad suffered. He had to undergo an emergency surgery called Dissecting Aneurism (he has a huge cut from the chest down to his belly button). An Aneurism is when your Aorta erupts and you bleed internally which can be life threatening and can lead to death. The Aorta is our largest blood vessel that delivers the blood to the rest of our body. Thankfully my dad is a very strong man and HE SURVIVED. The surgeon couldn’t have done a better job and of course we left it all in God’s hands.

As we are impatiently waiting for him to recover, we noticed he had no movement/feeling on the left side of his arm or his lower body (both legs). The doctors had already done a CT scan and supposedly there were no signs of strokes. I immediately got in touched with a friend of mine who guided me through this whole ordeal. He suggested for me to demand additional test because he was sure my dad had suffered if not one, two strokes. I asked to speak with the Neurologist and asked if what my father was going through was normal from an Aneurism and he said no, it wasn’t normal. As we spoke, I asked if they can run an MRI of his brain and back to have a more detailed test and better result. Lo and behold! He suffered a major brain stroke and a spinal stroke which is why there is neither feeling nor movement in most of his body. At this very moment, he’s only able to move his right hand and his head.

My father is the breadwinner for his family. He has 3 children (not including myself as I don’t rely on him). Jaime, who is the oldest of the boys, will need to step up and contribute where needed. Jonathan who is 14 and Natalia who is 12 years old, they all remain under his care. Currently, we are unsure of how long this process will take, but it’ll definitely be a long process before he can go back to work if at all possible.
Now more than ever, my father and our family need your help and any donations are more than welcome. Anything helps and it is greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. I’ve always said this phrase, “hoy por ti, mañana por mi,” in other words, today you, me tomorrow. You never know when you’ll need a helping hand in the near future.

Thank you in advance to all of you from the bottom of our hearts. We’re all hoping for a speedy recovery for my dad.

Regards,
The Beltran family
